Started in the post war era (1948) as Mickey Mouse Shoe Store, a footwear retailer in Dagupan City and wholesaler in nearby towns and provinces.
In the early 80’s, it included widermerchandise line-up and was named Marimar. Consequently, a subsidiary business, Marwood Home Furnishing was establishedshowcasing appliances and other home fixtures.
1988, the 1st three-storey commercial complex in Dagupan City was introduced. MAGIC (M-arimar; A-ppliances; G-groceries / gift; I-tems; C-enter) housed under one roof a supermarket, department store and appliance center. Its opening signaled the potential of the city to become the commercial hub of the province.
To date, Magiclub Inc. (Magic Group of Companies) is one of the premier family destination and most preferred retailer north of Manila that is engaged in supermarket, appliance and department store operations. Its auxiliary businessesfast-food franchising, distributorship and leasing arm complement the entire corporate set-up.
Magic’s market leadership in Pangasinan is bolstered by its presence in at least 14 towns / cities, with outlets strategically located in each municipality. Moreover, Magic’s aggressive expansion program also opened market potentials in Nueva Ecija, Zambales, Ilocos Sur and La Union.
Aside from generatinglivelihood opportunities for the people where each outlet is located, Magic also commits to community and nation building by helping small-medium enterprise (agri and aqua cultures) trade their products to end consumers. Local animal growers and traders were also given the opportunity to do business with Magic.
Our social advocacy and CSR, Magic Treat Kita Kid, started way back 2000, now lists at least 150,000 kids as beneficiaries of a day of gift giving, games and feeding program. Our constant coordination and participation in government and private entity initiated projects like river dredging, blood-letting programs, disaster response warms the bond of the company and its customers.
